Job summary

Derby College Group (DCG) is hiring a Teacher of Animal Management (Zoo and Wildlife – Higher Education) to lead and deliver modules from Level 4 to Level 6 at the Broomfield Hall campus. The role includes coordinating on-site work experience and supervising student dissertations.

You will deliver theory-rich teaching enhanced by the on-site Animal Unit, guest speakers, and external visits, while supporting students toward higher study, apprenticeships, or careers in zoo, wildlife, and

Qualifications

• Bachelor's and Master's degrees in Animal Management, Zoo or Wildlife or related subject.
• Qualified to teach and ideally have experience in Higher Education.
• Adaptable and flexible to deliver across Animal Management modules and supervise dissertations.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality teaching across theoretical aspects with practical Animal Unit-based application.
• Lead programme planning and delivery for Zoo and Wildlife degree courses (Levels 4–6).
• Coordinate on-site work experience through liaison with partner zoo and supervise dissertations.
