Job summary

Compass Group UK&I seeks a dedicated Chef/Cook on a zero hours contract for Defence operations in the UK. You will prepare high-quality meals, adapt menus, and help drive service improvements while upholding brand standards and food safety.

You will work within a dynamic team, supervising activities and contributing to menu creativity, with flexible shifts and on-site duties across Defence sites. A passion for great food and customer service is essential.

Qualifications

• Hold City & Guilds 706/1 & 2 or NVQ equivalent.
• Have a Food Hygiene certificate.
• Experience supervising a team.
• Experience in a similar Chef role.
• Be passionate about great-tasting food and exceptional customer service.

Responsibilities

• Preparing delicious, high-quality food that delights our clients and customers.
• Overseeing and implementing menu changes.
• Identifying opportunities to improve our food services.
• Listening and acting on customer feedback to improve our food services
• Supporting with the creation of new menus and creative food concepts.
• Representing Defence and maintaining a positive brand image.
• Monitoring inventories to keep our kitchens well-stocked.
• Overseeing kitchen cleaning responsibilities to maintain hygiene standards.
• Complying with Food Handling, Hygiene and Health and Safety regulations.
