McCarthy & Stone are recruiting a Relief Care & Support Assistant to join Thomas Court in Pen-y-lan, Cardiff, a Retirement Living Plus development for residents aged 70+. The role provides high-quality care to enable residents to live well in later life, plus housekeeping and domestic support across the estate.

You will assist residents with activities, appointments, transport, and shopping on a flexible, as-needed basis, delivering excellent service in a busy community setting and promoting

Qualifications

• Experience in care or support environment preferred.
• Passion for wellbeing of older people and customer service.
• QCF Health and Social Care (Adults) Level 2 preferred; other qualifications considered.

Job description

L McCarthy & Stone are recruiting for a professional Relief CareAssistant to join the team at ourprestigious Thomas CourtdevelopmentinPen-y-lan, Cardiff Built in 2013, Thomas Court is a Retirement Living Plus development that consists of 58 apartments with the over 70's in mind, providing excellent on-site facilities and set within beautiful grounds.

Hourly rate: £13.26 per hour, plus up to an additional £1.30 for working evenings and weekends.

Hours: To cover shifts on an 'as and when' basis when required, to be discussed with the development Manager.

About the role: As a Relief Care & Support Assistant you will provide the highest quality of individual care to our residents enabling them to live later life well.

You will deliver housekeeping and domestic support across the general estate, including apartment cleans.

Duties will be varied and include supporting and encouraging our residents to take part in a wide range of activities that support their health and wellbeing.

You will help them to book appointments, arrange transport and where necessary, escort them on visits and assist with their shopping.

Every day will be diverse, and you’ll have the opportunity to use your people skills to make a real difference.

About you: You will be a warm, friendly individual with ideally some experience of working in a care or support environment.

You will have a passion for making a difference to the wellbeing and happiness of older people and enjoy working as part of team in a busy work setting.

You will be driven to deliver excellent customer service.

You will want to work in the Health and Social care sector and preferably have a QCF Health and Social Care (Adults) Level 2 qualification,although consideration will be given to a candidate with an alternative qualifications and relevant experience.
