Job summary

University of Bath is seeking a Research Associate in Spectroscopy and Molecular Modelling for Zeolite Catalysed Alcohol-to-jet-fuel catalysis, based at Harwell as part of the UK Catalysis Hub. The role aims to understand adsorption, diffusion and site interactions within zeolite micropores to optimise ATJ catalysis.

Qualifications

• Experience in vibrational spectroscopy to study adsorption in porous materials.
• Experience in synthesis and characterisation of zeolite catalysts.
• Excellent organisational and communication skills; ability to work in an interdisciplinary environment.

Responsibilities

• Conduct catalytic testing in fixed-bed reactors.
• Perform in situ FTIR/DRIFTS spectroscopy to probe adsorption and reactions.
• Collaborate with modelling team on atomistic simulations of microporous catalysts.
