A charity focused on providing safe and supported housing for young women is seeking a Treasurer. The successful candidate will oversee financial matters, ensuring effective financial controls are in place. This voluntary position requires no previous governance experience but seeks a commitment to the organization's mission and values. A strategic thinker with financial expertise is preferred, and expenses related to board meetings in Sheffield will be reimbursed.
YWHP is a well established, Sheffield based, charity providing trauma informed safe,supported housing, therapeutic programmesand counselling for young women and theirchildren who have been affected by sexualabuse, domestic abuse and sexual exploitation.
We are particularly keen to recruit trustees fromBlack and Asian communities, those who have"lived experience"of homelessness and mentalhealth issues and those from other minoritisedcommunities.

Treasurer – Role Description
As well as fulfilling the duties of a Trustee, the Treasurer maintains an overview of Young Women’s Housing Project’s financial affairs. The Treasurer ensures that effective and appropriate financial measures, controls and procedures are put in place and reports to the Board at regular intervals about the financial health of the organisation.
