YouTube Strategist (Tech & SaaS Niche) at Zygo Media

As a YouTube Strategist at Zygo Media, you will lead strategic content planning and packaging efforts for a portfolio of creators and brands, with a specific focus on Tech and SaaS businesses. Your mission is to help clients grow their YouTube presence by crafting platform-native strategies, compelling content packaging, and actionable creative briefs.

This is a remote, part-time contract role (10 hours per week for 3 months), ideal for a strategist with a strong understanding of both YouTube growth mechanics and the nuances of B2B and B2C tech storytelling.

Daily Responsibilities
  • You’ll be responsible for shaping and driving YouTube strategy through:
    • Developing channel strategies tailored to the objectives of tech and SaaS clients, whether the goal is demand generation, brand building, or thought leadership
    • Conducting audience and competitive research within the tech and SaaS verticals to identify positioning opportunities and content gaps
    • Crafting high-impact packaging including click-worthy titles, effective thumbnail briefs, and optimized metadata to drive discovery and conversion
    • Writing clear, execution-ready briefs for editors, designers, and producers to align the team on each video’s creative direction and strategic goal
    • Running A/B tests on thumbnails and titles, interpreting performance data, and iterating packaging to improve click-through rate and retention
    • Leveraging tools like YouTube Studio, 1of10, VidIQ, TubeBuddy, and Viewstats to drive strategy based on data
    • Collaborating with producers to ensure the content output aligns with the overall YouTube and brand goals
Requirements
  • The ideal candidate will have:
  • 1 or more years of experience in YouTube content strategy or channel management, with a strong portfolio of work in the tech and SaaS sectors
  • A deep understanding of YouTube’s algorithm, audience behavior, and platform trends, especially within B2B or B2C tech categories
  • Proven experience crafting clickable, retention-optimized packaging including titles, thumbnails, and metadata
  • Strong grasp of tech storytelling, product positioning, and simplifying complex ideas for general or niche audiences
  • Experience growing YouTube channels for SaaS products, developer tools, or technical founders
  • Proficiency in analytics platforms such as YouTube Studio, VidIQ, TubeBuddy, and 1of10
  • Excellent written and verbal communication skills with the ability to write strategic briefs that guide high-performing creative
  • A collaborative, feedback-driven mindset and experience working cross-functionally with content and design teams
Nice to Haves

Experience growing YouTube channels for SaaS products, developer tools, or technical founders

Background in tech marketing, developer education, or B2B content strategy

Familiarity with Adobe Creative Suite, including Photoshop, Premiere, or After Effects
