Job Description:

Axcis Education is seeking a youth worker interested in moving into a school setting to work at an alternative provision in Leyland. This is a full-time role starting in September 2024, with potential to start earlier if suitable. The working hours are 8:30 am to 3:30 pm, Monday to Friday, either as a 1-1 or in small groups. The position is temporary with the possibility of becoming permanent after a set number of weeks on supply. The school caters to secondary pupils who cannot stay in mainstream education, many with social, emotional, and mental health needs, as well as other SEND needs like autism, ADHD, and learning difficulties. The environment may include challenging behaviors, though these are rare due to the school's focus on behavior management. The day typically involves classroom work in the morning and extracurricular activities in the afternoon. Requirements: - Experience working with SEMH needs or similar. - Experience working with children or young adults. - Backgrounds in care, residential work, coaching, or youth work are encouraged. - Preferably a driver with access to a vehicle. - An enhanced DBS check on the update service or willingness to apply for one.
