Youth Worker – Alternative Provision (Liverpool)

Are you driven to make a real difference in the lives of young people? Do you have a talent for building strong, supportive relationships and guiding students who need a more tailored approach to education?

We are looking for a passionate and resilient Youth Worker to join an alternative provision school in Liverpool, supporting students with Education, Health and Care Plans (EHCPs). The aim is to help re-engage learners, boost their confidence, and support their journey back into mainstream education or other positive pathways.

The Role:

  • Engage students through mentoring, sports, creative activities, and day-to-day support to foster a positive learning environment
  • Build trusting relationships and be a positive role model, helping students overcome barriers to education
  • Promote student participation through inclusive and flexible support strategies
  • Support learners with social, emotional, and behavioural needs, using de-escalation techniques and positive reinforcement
  • Work collaboratively with teaching staff and other support workers to create a structured and safe setting

The Ideal Candidate:

  • Background in youth work, mentoring, sports coaching, or similar roles
  • Experience supporting young people with SEMH, SEN, or behavioural challenges
  • Confident communicator with excellent relationship-building skills
  • Patient, enthusiastic, and adaptable, with a genuine passion for helping young people thrive
  • Skilled in managing challenging behaviour and providing both emotional and practical support

If you’re ready to play a key role in changing lives and supporting young people to reach their potential, we’d love to hear from you.
