Job summary

TeacherActive Ltd in the UK is seeking a Youth Worker to support vulnerable children with SEMH, Autism, and Challenging Behaviour in an alternative provision in Bury. The post is full-time and long-term with an immediate start.

You will help learners with their education, emotional wellbeing and behaviour, building positive relationships and enabling engagement in class and activities on-site.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting SEMH, Autism, Mental Health needs and Challenging Behaviour.
• Strong behaviour management skills.
• A patient and resilient approach.
• The ability to build positive relationships with young people.
• Relevant Youth Work or Teaching Assistant qualification desirable.
• Experience supporting vulnerable children or young people.

TeacherActive is proud to be working with an alternative provision based in Bury who are looking to appoint a Youth Worker. The provision supports vulnerable children and young people with a range of additional needs, including SEMH, Autism, Mental Health needs and Challenging Behaviour, providing a supportive environment where pupils can engage positively with their education.

The provision is looking to take on a Youth Worker on a full-time, long-term basis with an immediate start. The successful Youth Worker will support young people with their learning, emotional wellbeing and behaviour, helping them to develop positive relationships and remain engaged within the provision.

The successful Youth Worker will have:

• Experience supporting SEMH, Autism, Mental Health needs and Challenging Behaviour
• Strong behaviour management skills
• A patient and resilient approach
• The ability to build positive relationships with young people
