Catch22 is recruiting a Navigator & Tailored Support Youth Worker to support children and young people in Stoke-on-Trent and Staffordshire. The role is full-time, based in health and custody settings, with a rota including evenings and weekends. A current driving licence and Enhanced DBS check are required.

The salary up to 26,276 GBP per year will reflect experience. The post involves responding to custody and health setting notifications, identifying risks, signposting to specialist services,

Qualifications

• Minimum 5 GCSE’s or equivalent, grade C or above.
• Relevant professional qualification in Youth/Community work, Social Care, Health or Education.
• Knowledge of issues affecting young people at risk of, involved in or victim to youth violence (including Child Exploitation) linked to Adult and Children Safeguarding Policy and procedures.
• Knowledge and understanding of Equality & Diversity issues.
• Experience of working directly with young people on level 2-4 on the continuum of need presenting a variety of support needs including keep safe work with those involved in violence.

Responsabilités

• Respond to notifications from custody settings at reachable moments where violence is a factor.
• Respond to notifications from health settings at reachable moments where violence is a factor.
• Identify risk and support needs of CYA engaged through Navigator interventions and signpost/referral onto specialist services.
• Complete dynamic risk assessments to ensure safety for CYA and others.
• Share information to safeguard individuals linked to violence including Police intelligence and safeguarding processes.
• Develop and sustain productive working relationships with partner agencies for referrals.
• Undertake tailored, short term, one to one interventions with CYA.
• Create collaborative action plans and risk reduction plans using the Outcome Star tool.
• Conduct Educational Awareness training within partner agencies on youth violence and related harms.
• Complete monitoring information for feedback reports and case studies for funders.
