Youth Teams Operations Manager
Purpose of the Role
The Football Association of Wales is responsible for the national football squads from Under 15 through to the Senior sides in both the female and male game.
The Team Operations Manager will be supported by the Head of Football Operations and the wider Football Operations team to deliver on a successful programme of matches for the Wales National football teams with particular focus on the Men’s pathway teams from MU15 to MU21
Key Areas of Accountability/Responsibility
- To travel overseas and in the UK with National Team squads
- Confirm and manage any designated 5-3-1 meetings for Team Operations across all Men’s Youth Teams (MU15 – MU21)
- Represent Team Operations in all Event Department 6-3-1 planning meetings for Men’s Youth Team games.
- Confirm Monthly meetings for Operational Staff with Head of Department to provide a constant review and benchmarking regarding the high-performance strategy.
- Develops a collaborative and transparent schedule of camps which deliver consistency and value for money across all Men’s Youth Teams ensuring that staff resources are considered within the planning process.
- Manage access to the team itinerary for internal departments as per the PWC work stream integrated within Asana.
- Manage the internal staff recruitment process to help resource planning and mentoring of volunteers working within Team Operations across all Men’s Youth Team squads.
- Attend UEFA Match Day Organisational Meeting (MDOM) as team representative.
- Comply with relevant International Camp Squad Policy.
- Single Point of Conduct (SPoC) for all technical staff consultants’ queries.
- SPoC for all club queries regarding players.
- SPoC as a gateway for parents’ queries within the player pathway.
- SPoC for all Men’s Youth Team queries for the CIP platform to share information with coaching staff and performance analysts.
- Liaise with all National Youth Team Coaches regarding player & staff itineraries to confirm a centralised strategy for an ascending level of environment through the development phase to encourage resilience and respect within the elite players pathway.
- Project Manage the Team Operations aspect of any Final tournament of a FIFA/UEFA Men’s Youth competition.
- To ensure that all procedures comply with both FIFA and UEFA competition regulations.
- UEFA TIME platform updated as per relevant protocols.
- To make all transport and accommodation arrangements for the matches both in UK and for international travel in collaboration with Procurement Dept.
- To provide a centralised budget plan for all Men’s Youth Teams to provide a SPoC for all financial matters
- To ensure that all match fees are paid promptly via either club or privately.
- Maintain a modern CRM platform for the storage of confidential player information including eligibility and personal details.
- Authorisation for personal expense claims for players & staff via ExpenseIn App.
- Travel to FIFA and UEFA competition group draws.
- Attend UEFA Workshops regarding new competition structures.
- To undertake any other duties as instructed by the Head of Football Operations

Person Specification
Qualifications / Experience
- Educated to A Level standard or equivalent.
- Experience working in a team sport environment.
- Experience of working in a camp environment or similar (advantageous)
Skills / Knowledge
- Excellent project management and organisational skills
- Ability to prioritise a busy workload
- Calm under pressure when quick decisions are required.
- Excellent IT skills to include the Microsoft Office package and the ability to pick up new systems.
- Excellent communication skills both written and verbal.
- Knowledge of international football organisation (advantageous)
Role Specific Requirements
- The successful applicant will be subject to an enhanced DBS check.
- Extensive international travel is required - the post holder must be willing to work unsociable hours, weekends, domestically and internationally.
- The ability to speak Welsh would be an advantage
