Job description

Youth Support Worker (Integrated Degree Apprenticeship)

Are you a ‘people person’? Do you think you could assist young people who may need additional support?

How would you like to undertake a degree course with NO student fees, and be employed while you study?

Berwick Youth Project is offering two vacancies for this amazing opportunity.

About You!
You will have some experience in a school, youth or community environment.

You’ll need the academic ability to study for a Degree and have a minimum of 96 UCAS Points, e.g. 3 ALevels at Grade C, or substantial experience of working with young people.

You will be a proactive, hardworking, flexible, team player, willing to learn and undertake tasks that may include evening and weekend work. Most importantly, you will have the welfare and wellbeing of young people at heart.

  • 30 hours per week @ £12.21 per hour, with an inflationary rise per annum
  • 1 day per week release to Sunderland University with travel paid to and from campus
  • A supportive, learning environment with experienced staff
  • Laptop, mobile phone, and any other equipment required to undertake the role

About Berwick Youth Project
We are celebrating our 30th year as an organisation in May 2025. During that time, we have supported hundreds of young people in Berwick and the surrounding area.

We offer three main aspects to the project:
1. Supported Accommodation for young people living independently for the first time.
2. Information and Support –providing a confidential and safe space.
3. Youth Groups and Activities – offering a youth club setting, outdoor activities, and much more…
