Academics are working with a welcoming and dedicated specialist school in Rowde, catering to young people aged 11-18 with severe learning disabilities (SLD). They are seeking a passionate Youth Support Worker to join their team ASAP on a full-time basis. The school is committed to providing a supportive and engaging environment that helps every student reach their potential both in and outside of education.
As a Youth Support Worker, you'll work closely with teaching staff and students to provide tailored support that meets the unique learning and personal development needs of each young person.
Key Information:
* Position: Youth Support Worker
* Salary: £85-100 per day (depending on experience)
* Start Date: ASAP
* Hours: Full-time (08:30-15:00, Term-time only)
* Location: Rowde
You could be a Youth Support Worker if you:
* Have a genuine passion for supporting young people with complex learning needs
* Are patient, empathetic, and resilient in challenging situations
* Have previous experience working with children and/or young people (preferred but not essential)
* Hold a minimum grade C/level 4 in GCSE English and Maths
* Are looking to work in a supportive, rewarding, and collaborative environment
The day-to-day responsibilities of a Youth Support Worker will include:
* Supporting students with their learning, communication, and personal development
* Helping students access the curriculum in a way that suits their individual needs
* Assisting teachers with lesson delivery and classroom management
* Delivering individual or small group interventions focused on life skills and independence
* Encouraging positive behaviour and supporting students with their daily routines
* Collaborating with families, teachers, and other professionals to provide consistent, high-quality care
