Job description

Vision for Education are seeking an experienced Youth Worker to work in a primary and or secondary school that caters to students with Autism, Learning difficulties, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.

About the role:

The Youth Worker will be supporting young people with Special educational needs on a one-to-one basis.

  1. Building a strong rapport with the student to encourage them to attend and thrive in school.
  2. Following the guidance of the teacher but knowing the student well enough to deal with any conflicts.
  3. Working 8:30 - 15:30 Monday to Friday.
  4. Working term time only for the full academic year.

Located in Plymouth, the school caters to students with moderate needs, learning difficulties, and Social, Emotional, and Mental Health needs.

Easily accessible with parking and public transport links.

Supportive to staff, running weekly CPD training and team meetings.

About you:
  1. A relevant Level 3 Qualification such as Children and Young People's Workforce, Sporting qualifications, and more is desired but not required.
  2. Able to obtain suitable references and a valid DBS check.
  3. Experience working with children with challenging behaviours and backgrounds.
  4. A non-judgmental and caring approach.
