Job summary

Horizon Care and Education in Manchester is seeking a Youth Support Worker to help young people transition to independent living. You will provide emotional and practical support, develop and review support plans, and assist with safeguarding and risk management while helping access education, training and employment.

Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and sleep-ins is required; a driving licence and access to a vehicle are preferred.

Qualifications

• Experience with vulnerable young people and ideally care leavers.
• Strong safeguarding knowledge and risk assessment skills.
• Ability to be resilient and empathetic when working with young people.
• Excellent communication and problem-solving abilities.
• Flexibility to work evenings, weekends and sleep-ins.

Responsibilities

As a Youth Support Worker

you will be helping young people transition to independent living, duties include:

• Provide emotional and practical support , including out-of-hours on-call.
• Develop and review support plans, ensuring safeguarding and risk management.
• Help young people access education, training, and employment.
• Manage properties and liaise with other professionals.
• Support our young people to develop independent living skills to prepare them to live fully independently .
