A community support charity is seeking a candidate for a hybrid role focused on mentoring young people. The successful applicant will coordinate support to up to 20 young people, ensuring they have the appropriate guidance and resources. Responsibilities include onboarding, goal setting, and collaborating with partner organizations. This is a fixed-term position of 9-12 months, with a comprehensive induction to aid in development.

Purpose of role
To support the Area Manager in ensuring the Charity’s development and growth in ways that are relevant and in line with operational services and charitable objectives.
To ensure the Charity achieves its aims and objectives and fulfils its operational plan effectively by providing high quality support services, providing person centred long-term mentoring for young people.
To have key and major responsibility for coordinating service areas and develop the Charity’s programmes, supported by your line manager. One of your key roles will be developing positive working relationships with key partner organisations.
A fixed term role for approx 9-12 months to provide maternity cover. (subject to extension depending on employee return date.
In Your Role
We offer a comprehensive induction/probation period that will equip you with the skills and confidence to work with a thriving caseload of young people and mentors;
You will be expected to carry out a wide range of duties independently, with guidance and supervision available at all times.
You will have the opportunity to contribute your knowledge and experience to the wider team and support organisational development.
Key Duties
-Responsible for a geographical area, supporting up to 20 young people.
-Coordinate onboarding of young people, including the initial assessment, matching of volunteers developing skills sessions if and when appropriate.
-Develop a multi-agency approach for the young people you are working with, to ensure your young people have the right support at the right time.
-Directly support young people whilst they are onboarding onto our mentor service.
-Support young people to identify their short term goals and long-term goals to structure and guide the mentoring sessions.
-Signpost to other relevant services when required.
-Report any safeguarding concerns to the DSL, with support from your line manager.
