Description of Job

We are excited to offer this role, where you will split your time 50/50 between Christ Church (CCS) and the Southport and Areas Schools Workers Trust (SASWT, www.saswtrust.com).

At Christ Church, we aim to see every young person in Southport have the opportunity to meet with God, who can change their lives. Our target is to connect with 200 young people (0-18s) by 2028. Currently, around 70 are connected, with approximately ten aged 11-16 attending on Sundays, plus a few aged 16-18, and about thirty attending our Friday Night Youth. This effort is supported by a team of around 15 volunteers.

The Southport and Area Schools Workers Trust, established in 1999, is a charity that works across 20+ primary and secondary schools in the town and beyond. Its mission is to create safe spaces for young people to explore big issues of life and faith through activities such as assemblies, RE & PSHE lessons, after-school clubs, lunchtime safe spaces, and more.

CCS is a founding supporter of SASWT, both sharing a vision for young people to explore faith and meet Jesus. This role enables you to do that within a school setting connected to a church base. We seek someone passionate about engaging with young people and sharing faith, regardless of experience, but with the right skills and personality for this environment. We are also recruiting a Children and Families Worker, and together, the small team will be passionate about working hard, having fun, encouraging each other, and trusting God.

This position comprises two permanent contracts of 18.75 hours each (one with each organization), totaling a full-time equivalent of 37.5 hours per week.

Christ Church is a vibrant community with a big vision: to provide everyone in Southport with multiple opportunities to encounter Jesus. Our five core values are: Jesus-following, relational, kind, creative, and courageous. While we may not always get them perfect, these values drive our community forward.
