Job summary

Ann's Home Care invites applications for a role working directly with looked-after young people in a home setting, delivering supportive care and coordinating with families and professionals. You will develop therapeutic relationships while safeguarding and promoting wellbeing.

You will participate in education plans, attend meetings, and keep accurate records, while maintaining flexibility to cover shifts including evenings, weekends and sleepovers. A driving licence is preferred.

Qualifications

• Level 7 qualification (degree) in Social Care or related field.
• Level 8 qualification (Honours) in Psychology.
• Higher Certificate in Custodial Care (Irish Prison Service).

Responsibilities

• Work directly with the young people in a home-like setting and build a therapeutic caring relationship.
• Accompany young people to appointments, meetings, holidays and outings.
• Collaborate with families and professionals to support the young person’s plan.
• Develop educational plans and support participation in recreational activities.
• Attend daily handovers, care planning meetings, and Looked After Reviews as required.
• Ensure information about the young people is handed over to colleagues during handovers.
• Maintain up-to-date records and be a key contact for the young person’s network.
• Comply with Health and Safety and Fire Safety policies.
• Participate in training and development through probation and appraisals.
• Foster relationships with professionals from other disciplines.
• Keep accurate records of activities and welfare concerns.
• Report safeguarding concerns to line management.
• Report concerns about staff to line management.
• Participate in supervision as per policy and standards.
• Carry out general housework and meal preparation with children.
• Cover shifts including evenings, weekends, and sleepovers.
