Job summary

Oakhill Secure Training Centre in England is seeking a Public Health Practitioner to lead the development and delivery of a comprehensive public health programme within the establishment. You will work across healthcare, education, psychology and operations to reduce health inequalities for vulnerable young people, designing health promotion, vaccination coordination, and infection prevention.

Responsibilities

• Design and deliver health promotion programmes, co-produced with young people and accessible to those with additional needs
• Increase uptake of NHS screening and coordinate routine, catch-up and seasonal vaccinations
• Lead sexual health, healthy relationships, and smoking and vaping reduction initiatives
• Support infection prevention, outbreak preparedness and liaison with UKHSA
• Ensure continuity of care on transfer, release and transition to adult services
• Analyse health data, run audits and report to senior leaders
• Work to Secure Stairs and trauma-informed principles, with strong safeguarding practice
