Job summary

New Wine is seeking a Youth Pastor to cover maternity leave at St Mary Bredin in Canterbury. The ideal candidate will have a vibrant faith and the ability to share the Good News with young people.

The role includes working with a supportive staff team and leading in youth discipleship. The contract is for 6 months, with a salary range of £25,000-32,000 per annum depending on experience.

St Mary Bredin is a vibrant, evangelical, Anglican church in the heart of Canterbury city. We are looking for a Youth Pastor (to cover maternity leave) with a clear gift for sharing the gospel with and discipling the young people of our community. You’ll be part of a supportive staff team, with a committed team of volunteers, looking to ‘be holy and be a blessing’.

Qualifications

• A deep trust in the scriptures as the Word of God.
• Good communication skills, is self‑motivated and organised.
• Experience of working with young people in a church context, and understands the importance of safeguarding and supporting vulnerable people.
• A track record of working well in teams and leading teams.
• Encouragement and support for parents.

Job Details

Salary: £25-32,000 (per annum) depending on experience – 6 month fixed term contract to cover maternity leave.

Available for Interview: Tuesday 7th July.

Start Date: by 1st September 2026, but ideally during August.
