Job summary

Waythrough is seeking an Outreach Practitioner in Northampton to deliver direct work with young people, training sessions, and active outreach across schools, colleges and community venues. You will provide advice and signposting to help young people access the right support and work to improve local services.

You will facilitate engaging group sessions, develop partnerships with professionals, and support safeguarding and risk awareness among participants.

Qualifications

• Experience working with young people or vulnerable groups in a community setting.
• Qualifications in substance misuse, youth work, psychology, counselling, mental health or social care are highly relevant.
• Confidence delivering training and group sessions to both young people and professionals.
• Excellent communication and relationship-building skills.
• Good understanding of safeguarding, confidentiality, consent and mental capacity.

Responsibilities

• Provide advice, interventions and signposting to help young people access the right support.
• Deliver engaging training for young people and professionals on substance misuse and safeguarding.
• Engage communities through outreach across schools, colleges and community venues.
• Build strong partnerships with professionals, schools and community organisations.
• Facilitate group work and activities to encourage participation and positive choices.
