Job summary

Waythrough is seeking a Trainee Outreach Worker on a 12-month fixed term contract based in London (Haringey area). The role involves community outreach, harm reduction, brief interventions, and care planning for clients facing mental health, housing, or substance use challenges.

37 hours per week. You will work in diverse settings, may include evenings and weekends, and will record client data using case management systems.

Qualifications

• Previous voluntary or paid experience in a client-facing role.
• Strong active listening skills on a day-to-day basis.
• Comfortable working in varied community settings and lone-working situations.

Responsibilities

• Provide assertive outreach in the community to engage or re-engage individuals needing treatment.
• Deliver satellite provisions at co-locations (GPs, probation, hostels, etc.).
• Deliver harm reduction, brief interventions, and extended brief interventions.
• Manage care planning, risk assessment and caseload for service users.
