Job summary

Waythrough in Northampton is recruiting a Young People’s Practitioner to support local young people in the community. You will engage with schools, colleges and community venues, offering guidance and directing young people to appropriate services.

This full-time, permanent position requires 37 hours per week, with a flexible pattern including some weekends and evenings. Opportunities for development and a strong benefits package are provided.

Qualifications

• Experience with at risk/vulnerable people in a community setting.
• Ability to deliver group work.
• Knowledge of safeguarding, confidentiality, consent and mental capacity.

Responsibilities

• Outreach to schools, colleges, places of worship and community venues.
• Deliver group work and provide first contact and onward direction to services.
• Raise profile of substance misuse services among young people and carers.
