Main Purpose of the Job

Stockport Youth Justice & Targeted Youth Support Service aims to prevent offending by children and young people, working within legislation set out in the Crime and Disorder Act 1998. The service includes staff from the Local Authority, statutory partners such as Health, Police, and Probation, and commissioned services. The post involves working with children, young people, and their families referred by police and courts, and engaging with schools and community partners.

Key Responsibilities

Responsibilities include working with multi-agency teams, managing caseloads of children on statutory orders, assessing risks, supporting children with Adverse Childhood Experiences and exploitation, attending courts, contributing to strategies to reduce youth disorder, promoting Restorative Justice, maintaining accurate records, and participating in multi-agency meetings and duty systems.

Requirements include operating within safeguarding procedures, attending training, and working flexibly to meet service needs. The role involves collaboration, confidentiality, and adherence to legislative standards.

You must have:

  • Enhanced DBS/Update service.
  • References for the last 5 years of employment.
