Job summary

Launchpad in Reading is seeking a dedicated Young People Support Officer – Mother & Baby Lead to manage a caseload of young people in supported accommodation, delivering flexible, person-centred support across Reading and surrounding areas.

You will help develop life skills, access education and employment, advocate for young people, and work with partners to safeguard and support move-on into independent living.

Qualifications

• Experience supporting young people, vulnerable adults or people experiencing homelessness.
• Experience working within supported housing, social care, youth work, mental health, domestic abuse, leaving care or related services.
• Knowledge of housing pathways, homelessness prevention or move-on planning.
• Strong case management and IT skills.

Responsibilities

• Deliver person-centred support to young adults aged 18-24.
• Build trusted relationships that encourage engagement, growth and independence.
• Co-produce support plans, set goals and track progress.
• Help young people access health, wellbeing, education and employment services.
• Advocate on behalf of young people and promote equality of opportunity.
• Develop independent living skills and budgeting.
• Deliver life skills workshops and group activities.
• Safeguarding and multi-agency partnership working.
