This role involves supporting children with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health/Complex Needs in a primary school setting in Kidlington.

Are you interested in supporting children with mental health issues? Would you like to gain experience working with children with complex needs alongside trained therapists, counsellors, and psychologists?

An outstanding specialist school for children aged 4 to 11 with Social and Emotional Mental Health Needs and Autism is seeking a dedicated Graduate to work as a Mental Health Assistant. The ideal candidate will have qualifications in Psychology, Counselling, or Criminology; however, other relevant subjects and experience will also be considered.

This full-time position starts ASAP. The role offers the opportunity to shadow professionals, learn from experienced staff, and gain invaluable experience working with children with special needs and mental health challenges. The role is ideal for aspiring educational or occupational psychologists, therapeutic support workers, or SEN teachers.

The school requires a proactive, enthusiastic, and adaptable Mental Health Assistant who can work independently, demonstrate resilience, and confidently handle challenging behaviour.

Role details:

  • Position: Mental Health Assistant

  • Salary: £80-£95 per day
  • Schedule: Full-time, Monday to Friday, 8:30 am to 3:30 pm

Qualifications: Level 3 or higher; a degree in a relevant field is highly desirable. Experience working with SEN children or adults in any setting is advantageous, including personal experience.
