Qualifications

  • Two years recent experience in youth justice or related field.
  • Experienced in structured staff supervision and multi-agency work.
  • Knowledge of criminal justice and children's safeguarding legislation.

Responsibilities

Requirements of the role:

– Have at least two years recent experience of working in youth justice or a related field

– Evidenced experience of management including structured staff supervision, performance management and multi-agency work

– Specific management of staff working within a court-based and/or community-based setting

– Knowledge of current crime and disorder policies and their relationship to youth justice and targeted youth support services

– Knowledge of relevant criminal justice and children’s safeguarding legislation and guidance, with the ability to interpret and apply them in line management

– Understanding of risk, safety & well-being factors related to offending, exploitation, vulnerabilities, and risk-based behaviors

– Knowledge of principles of evidence-based practice and other research relevant to youth justice

– Ability to analyze and interpret statistics and performance data

– Ability to represent the service internally and externally

– Ability to establish constructive relationships with partner agencies and work effectively in a multi-agency setting

– Skills in oral and written communication, including report writing to deadlines

– Ability to contribute to strategic aims of Stockport Council, the Crime and Disorder Strategy, and Youth Justice plan

– Competence in IT and case management systems

– A relevant professional qualification and/or professional experience with evidence of training and development
