An opportunity has arisen to join Tower Hamlets and the City of London Youth Justice Service as a Youth Justice Case Prevention Officer on a permanent basis.

We are seeking a Case Prevention Officer with excellent skills in engaging and developing positive, trusting relationships with children and their families from diverse backgrounds. Building strong relationships with children and families is essential to all aspects of youth justice practice.

As a Case Prevention Officer, you will work with children aged 10-17 years who have been referred to the Youth Justice Service by the Police or Court, for consideration of an out-of-court disposal or via our prevention offer. Your responsibilities include conducting high-quality assessments and creating individualized intervention plans tailored to children’s needs, aimed at promoting desistance from offending, safety, and public protection. You will be committed to achieving the best outcomes for children in Tower Hamlets and the City of London.

The Youth Justice Service is committed to a ‘child first’ approach, emphasizing collaboration with children, families, and multi-agency partners. The ideal candidate will have a good understanding of trauma-informed, restorative, and relational approaches.

The team is multidisciplinary, including speech and language therapists, substance misuse practitioners, police, child & adolescent mental health clinicians, education officers, and therapeutic practitioners.

Please note, the application process may close early if we receive a high volume of responses.
