Job summary

We Do Social Work in Colindale is seeking a Youth Justice Service Officer / Case Manager to join the Youth Justice Service. You will manage caseloads, deliver statutory interventions and help young people achieve positive outcomes.

The role requires experience with children and young people, safeguarding, assessment and multi-agency working, with flexibility for evenings, weekends and court duties. Salary range £42,771–£46,968.

Qualifications

• Experience working with children and young people, particularly those involved in offending.
• Knowledge of youth justice, safeguarding and risk management.
• Experience undertaking assessments and developing intervention plans.
• Strong multi-agency working and case management skills.
• Excellent communication, report-writing and court presentation skills.
• Ability to work flexibly, including occasional evenings, weekends and court duties.

Responsibilities

• Manage a caseload of young people subject to Youth Justice statutory orders.
• Complete AssetPlus and other assessments, identifying risks, needs and strengths.
• Develop and deliver targeted intervention and risk-management plans.
• Prepare pre-sentence, referral order and court reports.
• Represent the YJS at Youth Court and other courts as required.
• Undertake direct work with young people, parents and carers, including home and community visits.
• Work with children’s social care, police, education, health and other partner agencies.
• Support young people on bail, remand and custody, including resettlement and rehabilitation.
• Respond to safeguarding concerns and promote the welfare of children and young people.
• Promote restorative justice and positive outcomes for victims and young people.
• Maintain accurate, timely case records and contribute to service performance monitoring.
• Participate in quality assurance, training, supervision and professional development.
