Job summary

Gloucestershire County Council is launching a new Supported Accommodation Service in Stroud to help young people and care leavers aged 16-25 develop independence. You will provide practical and emotional support, build trusting relationships and work as part of a dedicated team in a 19-unit home.

Experience supporting young people who may have experienced trauma, emotional vulnerability or challenging circumstances.
Strong communication, organisational and record-keeping skills.
Commitment to equality, inclusion and positive outcomes for young people.

Responsibilities

Build positive relationships with young people in the service.
Support independence in living skills: budgeting, cooking, cleaning, self-care and managing appointments.
Encourage engagement with education, employment, training and community opportunities.
Promote wellbeing and resilience using trauma-informed approaches.
Support tenancy responsibilities and safe accommodation.
Identify safeguarding concerns and work with partners to achieve outcomes.
Maintain accurate records and support plans.
