Connect2Luton, on behalf of Luton Borough Council, is recruiting a Youth Hub Co-ordinator to lead the operational delivery of the Youth Hub for young people aged 16-24 who are NEET or facing barriers. You will oversee a team of two Employment Support Officers and coordinate more than 15 partner organisations from a single location in Luton.

Responsibilities

  • Lead the day-to-day operation of the Youth Hub, ensuring a safe, welcoming and accessible environment for young people, employers and partner organisations.
  • Coordinate delivery of the 12-month Youth Hub pilot, supporting 300 young people aged 16-24 who are NEET, unemployed or facing barriers to education, employment and training, and ensuring effective customer journeys from engagement through to progression and sustained outcomes.
  • Provide effective leadership, supervision, performance management and development support for two Employment Support Officers, including workload management, resource planning and staff wellbeing.
  • Develop, coordinate and maintain operational procedures, referral pathways, participant tracking systems and quality assurance processes to support the effective delivery of the Youth Hub.
  • Engage young people who are NEET, unemployed or facing barriers to progression, ensuring access to personalised support, action planning, employability interventions, mentoring, accredited learning and specialist services.
  • Develop and maintain relationships with employers and anchor institutions to identify and promote employment, apprenticeship, work experience and sector-based progression opportunities for young people.
  • Promote volunteering, social action and community participation as pathways to employability, skills development and improved wellbeing.
  • Lead performance management and quality assurance activities, including monitoring programme outcomes, maintaining accurate records, producing reports and ensuring the achievement of agreed targets and funding requirements

Connect2Luton are excited to recruit a Youth Hub Co-ordinator on behalf of Luton Borough Council.

Main purpose of position:

The Youth Hub Co-ordinator will lead the operational delivery and ongoing development of Luton Council's Youth Hub, providing a welcoming, inclusive and aspirational environment that supports young people aged 16-24 who are NEET, unemployed or facing barriers to education, employment and training.

Managing a team of two Employment Support Officers, the postholder will coordinate a co-located partnership of over 15 organisations, bringing together employment, skills, health, housing, wellbeing and voluntary sector support from a single location.

The role will oversee delivery Youth Hub programme supporting at least 300 young people each year to progress towards employment, apprenticeships, education and training.

The post holder will play a key role in delivering the Council's Inclusive Growth and Economy priorities, supporting the achievement of the Jobs, Homes and Safety agenda through the reduction of youth unemployment, improved progression opportunities, strengthened employer engagement and the creation of sustainable pathways into work for Luton residents.
