Job summary

St Helens Council is seeking a Youth Engagement Officer within the Education Welfare Team to support children and young people to access education and overcome attendance barriers. You will work with schools, families and partner agencies, delivering outreach and group work, and contribute to safeguarding and positive outcomes.

The role includes flexible remote/office-based work, with a minimum of two days per week in an office setting, and enhanced disclosure requirements.

Responsibilities

• Provide support to children and young people
• Support young people on a one-to-one basis, in group work and outreach
• Support the engagement of children and young people deemed at risk of exploitation, ongoing gathering of information of child exploitation, delivering awareness sessions and informal education to children and young people
