Youth Engagement Officer JGW+
Salary banding: £24,000 - £26,000
Location: covering Newport and Torfaen County (On-site).
Contract: Full-time, permanent
Hours of work: Monday to Friday 09:00am to 16:30pm
Mileage: 45p per mile

About the role

As a Youth Engagement Officer, you will be responsible for designing and delivering programs that actively involve young people in meaningful activities, enhance their skills, and cultivate a strong sense of community. Jobs Growth Wales Plus (JGW+) is a Welsh Government initiative that provides work experience and training opportunities to young people and unemployed individuals, enhancing their employability and supporting job creation in various sectors.


Your impact
  1. Identify, engage, and recruit new learners to the Itec Jobs Growth Wales + programme.
  2. Use various techniques (sales, business development, marketing) to attract new learners.
  3. Establish new business partnerships and maximize existing relationships for learner opportunities.
  4. Actively sell and endorse Itec training products and services to attract learners.
  5. Drive new learner generation through calls, networking, digital activities, and community outreach.
  6. Build effective relationships with schools and community-based venues to attract learners.
  7. Build strategic relationships with Centre Leads and Learner Coaches to ensure seamless learner transitions.

What are we looking for?
Essential
  • Experience working with young people and/or being passionate about making a difference.
  • Strong and relevant knowledge of local networks.
  • Willingness to undergo a DBS check (cost covered by the company) and EWC registration.
  • Full driving license with use of own vehicle.
Desirable
  • Experience within Post 16 Education or youth-based organisations.
