Job summary

The Roundhouse in London (Camden Town) is seeking a Youth Director to lead its youth engagement strategy across schools, communities and creative pathways. You will work with the Chief Executive and Creative Director to embed young people's voices in the organisation and its artistic programme.

You will oversee governance, policy, advocacy, learning and evaluation, and safeguarding, building partnerships with diverse communities and delivering inclusive, safe, inspiring spaces where young people

Qualifications

• Proven track record leading youth engagement or creative learning programmes.
• Experience building inclusive opportunities and safe learning spaces.
• Ability to influence at executive level and represent the organisation externally.

Responsibilities

• Lead the development and implementation of the youth engagement strategy.

Job description

A key member of the Executive Team, the Youth Director will lead the Roundhouse's youth engagement strategy and programmes, working across schools, communities, creative career pathways and partnerships. They will work closely with the Chief Executive and Creative Director to embed young people's voices and ambitions across the organisation, including its artistic programme and decision-making. The role also leads on youth governance, policy and advocacy, learning and evaluation, and safeguarding.

We are looking for a strategic leader with substantial experience developing youth engagement, arts participation or creative learning programmes. You will understand how to create inclusive opportunities and safe, inspiring spaces for young people, and bring experience of working with diverse communities, building partnerships and using evidence to improve programmes. You will be confident representing the Roundhouse and advocating for young people, with the judgement to lead safeguarding and contribute to organisation-wide strategy.

The Roundhouse is an iconic music and performing arts venue and the UK's largest creative youth centre. Founded as a charity in 2006, it provides young people with opportunities to take part, develop their skills and pursue creative careers, through youth programmes, creative studios and links with artists and the creative industries.

The Roundhouse is now seeking a Youth Director to lead its work with young people and help shape the organisation's next 10 years.
