Job summary

LiveWest is inviting applications for a Youth Development Worker – Tenancy Sustainment in Penzance. The role focuses on empowering young people aged 16–25 to sustain tenancies and access tailored support services.

The successful candidate will provide one-to-one support, develop action plans, and collaborate with external agencies, ensuring safeguarding and person-centred approaches while working a 4-day week with weekend rotation.

Qualifications

• Essential ability to engage a range of young people aged 16–25.
• Strong safeguarding understanding and ability to support mental health needs.
• Experience in risk assessment and creating risk management plans.

Responsibilities

• Provide one-to-one key worker support to young people aged 16–25.
• Specialise in tenancy sustainment to help maintain licences and tenancies.
• Develop and review tailored support and action plans.
• Update risk assessments and risk management plans.
• Support with tenancy and housing management.
• Assist with benefits applications (e.g., Universal Credit, PIP, Housing Benefit).
• Guide budgeting and paying bills for young people.
• Collaborate with external agencies (mental health, DV services, landlords).
• Adapt communication to provide person-centred, creative support.
