Salary: $45,000 per year

We are seeking a dynamic, team-oriented, and caring individual to join our spirited team.

The Youth Career Advisor will provide comprehensive guidance and counseling support to youth, guiding individuals through their educational and career planning towards the overall goal of post-secondary education enrollment or sustainable full-time employment. This position will also be responsible for providing career readiness and post-secondary activities focused on keeping the youth actively engaged in the program until all their goals have been met. The Youth Career Advisor will collaborate with the Youth Team Lead to ensure sustainable placement for each youth.

Responsibilities
  1. Provide individualized basic skills assessments and identify employment goals based on career interests, abilities, and personal development considerations.
  2. Build one-on-one working relationships with youth to assist in mitigating challenges to obtaining and retaining employment.
  3. Meet regularly with all active youth participants providing career exploration, guidance, and counseling.
  4. Provide individualized and holistic support to each participant tailored to their specific needs.
  5. Actively recruit WIOA youth eligible candidates to enroll in the youth program.
  6. Provide offsite enrollment opportunities and support with educational facilities and/or employers as assigned.
  7. Provide referrals to community partners when appropriate.
  8. Develop Individual Service Strategy based on youths’ strengths and goals.
  9. Contact employers/post-secondary education opportunities.
  10. Establish detailed documentation of all client records to maintain an organized database and generate all project reports as needed.
  11. Conduct regular assessments tailored to guiding the participant in their career goals.
  12. Work closely with Youth Team Lead to ensure all activities are updated, and participant information is entered into all appropriate databases and files.
  13. Conduct case management duties, determine program eligibility, and maintain compliance with funder and Workforce Innovation & Opportunity Act guidelines.
  14. Other opportunities as available.
Qualifications
  1. 1-3 years of human services, training, or teaching experience.
  2. Experience working with disconnected youth.
  3. Skills and experience in providing career development and/or advising.
  4. Valid state driver’s license and vehicle required.
  5. Experience in a team-oriented environment.
  6. Degree in business, education, human services, or related area is preferred.
  7. Ability to converse with a wide range of professionals and demonstrate a positive professional attitude.
