Job summary

Birmingham City Football Club is seeking an enthusiastic Academy Schoolboy Physical Development Coach to support the physical development of our Academy players within a high-performance environment.

You will deliver on-pitch and gym-based development sessions, monitor progress using objective measures, assist with testing, and collaborate with medical staff to support rehabilitation and return-to-play.

Qualifications

• BSc in Sport and Exercise Science or equivalent.
• Desirable MSc in Sports Science or equivalent.
• UKSCA Accreditation (ASCC) and BASES Accreditation are desirable.
• Full UK Driving Licence.
• Leadership experience and the ability to contribute to professional networks.

Responsibilities

• Deliver high-quality on-pitch and gym-based physical development programmes.
• Assess, monitor and evaluate player physical development using objective measures.
• Support planning and delivery of academy physical testing programmes.
• Collaborate with Academy Medical and Physiotherapy staff on rehabilitation and return-to-play.
• Contribute to player reviews and development plans through a multidisciplinary approach.
• Collect, analyse and report physical performance data to inform development.
• Maintain accurate records of training loads, GPS data, wellbeing, attendance and testing outcomes.
• Ensure safeguarding, GDPR, health and safety, and club policies are followed.
