The organisation

In this Young Persons Support Worker opportunity around Lincolnshire, you will join a charity whose purpose is to help others gain independence and follow a positive pathway out of homelessness.

Key responsibilities

Your responsibilities will include:

  1. Managing a caseload of 8-12 individuals at one time with 1:1 support plans to promote independent living
  2. Assisting with finances, budgeting, cooking skills, laundry, applying for jobs, and re-engaging with education
  3. Supporting individuals with bidding for housing and setting up benefits
  4. Planning activities or workshops to provide information, advice, and guidance for those living out of temporary accommodation
  5. Booking and attending appointments
  6. Helping clients overcome barriers such as mental health issues, domestic violence, substance misuse, and learning disabilities, encouraging engagement with external agencies
  7. Tracking payments for housing, service charges, rent, etc.
Skills & experience
  • Proven experience as a Young Persons Support Worker or in supported housing, with up-to-date knowledge of housing legislation
  • Willingness to travel across Lincolnshire; a care driver license is highly desirable but not essential
  • Enhanced DBS clearance for child and adult on the update service
  • Flexibility to work 5 days over 7, including shift work
