As our Young Persons’ Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in developing and managing our groundbreaking newpaid internship programme and creating opportunities for care experienced young people to engage meaningfullywith Clan’s work standing with children and young people when they stand up for their rights. You will inspireand empower young people, helping them gain valuable skills and experiences that will benefit their futurecareers and personal growth.

Our Administrators play a key role in supporting day-to-day operations of the organisation. Responsibilities spanacross service delivery, office administration, financial administration and general support. A key aspect ofthis role includes supporting our Helpline and ensuring compliance with health and safety, financial processesand confidentiality policies.

Are you motivated by the opportunity to play a key role in delivering Clan Childlaw’s vision of a Scotland where allchildren and young people are empowered to use their rights ? Are you a lawyer who wants to work differently,using a child-centred approach that ensures that children and young people are kept at the heart of theprocess?

We are looking for experienced lawyers to join our team and to role in strategic litigation and in delivering anddeveloping our unique child-centred legal services to increase access to justice for children and young peopleacross Scotland.

This is a fantastic opportunity for a talented lawyer, who has a strong commitment to social justice and wants todevelop as a child centred lawyer. You should have experience in in delivering training as well as significantexperience in client casework and representation.

You should also have experience of managing a full case load including Legal Aid cases the Sheriff Court/Court ofSession and or Children’s Hearings. Ideally you will have worked as a lawyer within one of our areas of focus,(set out below) and have experience of delivering legal helpline services but if you bring experience of andcommitment to using your legal skills to improve lives then we want to hear from you. Comprehensive trainingwill be provided to support you in developing your knowledge and practice in our key areas, and you will beexpected to obtain certification as a lawyer for children.

Part of child-centred working is allowing our solicitors the time they need to work with clients. You will maintain areasonable caseload to ensure that is possible.

Location: Edinburgh or Glasgow

You can choose the location that works best for you. We operate hybrid working with the opportunity to work from homesome of the time. The role will also require travel between our office locations on a regular basis andthroughout Scotland as required.

Working Hours: Full time (35 hours a week) However - we will consider applications from candidates seeking to workupwards of 28 hours.

What is the role

This is an exciting opportunity to join our team as a Support Co-ordinator , working 25 hours per week (Permanent) tosupport victims and witnesses of all crimes + 10 hours per week Fixed Term Contract (FTC) to support victims andwitnesses impacted by Anti Social Crime within their local area and linking in with relevant partners to provideadvocacy for those impacted by ASB crime. The post holder will have the responsibility of managing volunteerswho will support victims and witnesses impacted by Anti-social crime in their local area and linking in withrelevant partners to provide advocacy for those impacted by ASB crime. This will be as part of the West team andthe rest of the Support Coordinators.

This postholder will be willing to commit to a 5 day working week varied between: Monday - Friday in between hours of8am - 8pm & Saturdays at 10am - 4pm

Primary location: Kilmarnock, the post holder will be supporting service delivery across the whole locality, withtravel across the South-west area. Our service delivery model is outreach to meet the needs of people impactedby crime. (Expenses will be covered)

Salary on appointment will normally be at the lower salary point, with progression subject to review - in line withVSS progression arrangements. A higher salary placing will be considered in exceptional circumstances subject toexperience demonstrated.

The postholder will be reporting directly to a Locality Manager, you will be responsible for ensuring, within yourService(s), that VSS’s local service development and delivery plan is being implemented within your geographicalarea(s). Service delivery is provided by a team of skilled and knowledgeable volunteers, you will be responsiblefor planning their deployment to ensure that the service delivered meets the desired outcomes of victims andwitnesses of crime, our service users. The postholder will be responsible for all aspects of a volunteerengagement with VSS at your services, including recruitment, induction, learning and development, ongoingperformance management and support. Contributing to business planning and co-ordination ensuring that continuouslearning takes place to monitor that the outcomes of service users are being met.

What you’ll need to be successful

We are looking for someone who is experienced in a similar role and can evidence of continuing professionaldevelopment, effective leadership style, able to build confidence, motivate and improve performance and have aclean full driver licence. Someone with analytical skills who are able to understand, collect, analyse, reportand present data. You will have the ability to challenge stereotyping, prejudice, discrimination and bias. Weare looking for someone with a good working knowledge of the voluntary/charity sector and willing to be flexiblein working hours and able to travel as required.
