Job description

This is a permanent position based in Salford supporting children and young people in a residential home.

Although permanent, we are looking for someone who can start very quickly on a temp-to-perm basis.

NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or Health and Social Care

Must have experience supporting young people in a residential setting

Preferred Criteria

Driving License

Semester Recruitment specializes in supporting young people aged 5-18 in supported living, semi-independent accommodation, and children’s residential homes.

Shifts are typically 24-hour sleepovers.

It is essential that you have experience working within a similar setting and preferably have completed NVQ3 in Children & Young People Workforce or a similar qualification within this sector.

Qualifications/Requirements

A high standard of general education.

NVQ Level 3 in Health & Social Care – Children and Young People (CCYP) or equivalent.

Willingness to undertake further training.

Current full driving license with business insurance is preferable.

Job Purpose

To be responsible for providing support for vulnerable people (service users) for the company.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Assist the young person’s allocated social worker in the delivery of the service.
  2. Provide transport/escort to the young person as directed in line with care plans.
  3. Conduct welcome and induction for young people.
  4. Perform ongoing assessments of service users’ needs.
  5. Provide ongoing support and monitoring of service users.
  6. Assist in welfare and NHS issues.
  7. Prepare reports.
  8. Arrange appointments with various partner agencies.
  9. Maintain regular contact with young people.
  10. Inform customers of support groups.
