A reputable organization is seeking a Young Person's Support Worker to join their team in Newark. This role involves supporting young people in developing their skills and independence, providing comprehensive training, and working flexibly over a 7-day rota. Ideal candidates will have experience with young people and a strong understanding of childhood trauma.
Location: Newark
Salary: £24,030 - £24,513 per annum

Our client offers a fantastic opportunity for the right individual to join their friendly and supportive team at Branching Out Newark as a Young Person’s Support Worker. They provide comprehensive training to help you succeed in this role.
Branching Out Newark, commissioned by Nottingham County Council, provides a strengths-based support service aimed at building the skills, confidence, and independence of young people.
We are seeking motivated Support Workers to encourage young people to reach their potential. Help young people navigate the challenges of adolescence, mentor them, and lead future generations.
You will need to be willing and able to work and travel between the two locations in Newark:
Are you confident and resilient with experience working with young people? If so, this could be the perfect role for you.
Ideal candidates will have experience working with young people, understanding childhood trauma and its impacts. Experience as a teaching assistant, youth worker, or volunteer with young people is desirable.
The role involves advocating for tenants, liaising with agencies, and supporting access to housing, education, or employment. Patience and assertiveness are essential, especially when dealing with challenging behaviors. You will also support activities such as sports, crafts, and social events.
This role requires flexibility over a 7-day rota, including day shifts (08:00 – 15:30 or 14:30 – 22:00) and occasional night shifts with applicable enhancement rates. Our service operates 24/7.
