A leading youth work charity in Ivybridge is seeking a Young Person’s Housing Support Worker to support young individuals aged 16-25 with various housing and support needs. You'll be responsible for providing a holistic service, helping them access benefits, manage finances, and establish goals. The position offers a permanent contract with 21 hours per week and a supportive workplace culture with generous holiday entitlement.

Young Person’s Housing Support Worker (Job Ref 25-40)

Salary - £24,630.81 per annum pro rata
Permanent Contract – Based in Ivybridge/Plymouth
21 hours over days in the week, to be discussed
One-night shift £129.04 covering a Sunday

Responsibilities
  • You will be lone working with young people (aged 16-25) who have a range of support and housing needs.
  • Provide a holistic service assisting with accessing benefits, managing finances, health and wellbeing, maintaining accommodation, accessing education, employment or training.
  • Sometimes give further support and sign-posting for additional needs.
  • Take a creative approach to support, adapting your style of communication with each individual to provide a person-centred approach to help the young people establish and work towards their goals and aspirations.
  • Take an active role in the management and oversight of the buildings undertaking health and safety checks.
Requirements / Qualifications
  • Motivated, conscientious person to join the supported housing team.
  • Ability to lone work with young people aged 16-25 with various needs.
  • Willingness to undertake safeguarding checks as part of our safeguarding and DBS process; we conduct Disclosure and Barring Service checks as required for applicants who could have unsupervised access to children, young people and vulnerable groups.
