NVQ Level 3 in Children and Young People or Health and Social Care

Semester Recruitment specialises in supporting young people aged 5-18 in supported living, semi-independent accommodation, and children’s residential homes.

We are currently looking for Support and Youth Workers to provide ongoing support to Care Leavers in the area.

Great flexibility with shifts and rota.

Rates from £14.50 an hour and £75 sleep – full and part-time possible.

Our client is a leading provider of care to children and young people in the area, currently recruiting for Support Workers on a long-term temporary basis.

Shifts are typically 24-hour sleepovers; however, day and night shifts are also available.

Although temporary, this is full-time and ongoing with no end date.

This role supports Care Leavers aged 15-18, helping to increase their independence skills.

It is essential that you have experience working within a similar setting and preferably have completed NVQ Level 3 in Children & Young People Workforce or a similar qualification within this sector.

Qualifications/Requirements

High standard of general education.

NVQ Level 3 Health & Social Care – Children and Young People (CCYP) or equivalent.

Willingness to undertake further training.

Current full driving license with business insurance preferred.

Job Purpose

To be responsible for providing support to vulnerable people (service users) for the company.

Main Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Assist the young person’s allocated social worker in service delivery.
    1. Provide transport/escort to the young person as directed in care plans.
    2. Conduct welcome and induction for young people.
    3. Perform ongoing assessments of service users’ needs.
    4. Provide ongoing support and monitoring of service users.
    5. Assist with welfare and NHS issues.
    6. Prepare reports.
    7. Arrange appointments with partner agencies.
    8. Maintain regular contact with young people.
    9. Inform clients of support groups.
    10. Assist with move-on processes for service users.

Some shifts may involve 24-hour sleepovers; flexibility and availability for 2-3 days a week can lead to full-time hours. The company offers a great working environment with a dedicated team.
