Joining the team as a Young Lives Worker, you will be conversant in the areas of safeguarding for young people.

Typical annual earnings up to £29,813.88 per annum This typically includes 40 hours per week (Mon - Fri) , 16 hours per weekend (every other weekend) plus 4 sleep in shifts per month Please note this will be prorated for part time hours

The appointed Young Lives worker will:

- Work within Ofsted framework following reporting requirements
- Health & Social Care qualification or equivalent to NVWQ level 3 or equivalent work level experience
- In-depth knowledge of asses based assessment, support planning, positive risk management and review
- In-depth knowledge of housing related support
- In-depth knowledge of homelessness legislation
- In-depth knowledge of benefits and maximising income
- Knowledge of safeguarding for children and adults
- Knowledge of diversity and inclusion
- An understanding of the needs and issues of homelessness, vulnerable young people
- Experience of working with young people

The Support Worker increases the independence and skills of young people, promoting engagement with education and employment through flexible person centered outcome focused support.

The role holder helps young people to avoid eviction and repeat homelessness.

They also develop the capacity of young people to be able to move on to either less intensive housing related support services or more permanent, independent, accommodation at the earliest appropriate opportunity .

The role will involve working closely with other supporting accommodation service providers, community mental health teams, social and private landlords, the police, probation, Youth Offending Teams , the courts, the Department of Work and Pensions, the voluntary sector, local housing authorities, education and training agencies and children’s/adult social care, working within the Ofsted framework.

The post holder will work within the Psychological Informed Environments Framework and ensure all clients can make sustained changes to their lives

Joining the team as a Young Lives Worker, you will be conversant in the areas of safeguarding for young people, welfare benefit support, asset-based assessments and be willing to share your knowledge with colleagues. You will also have a thirst for learning and developing your skills, motivating your clients to do the same!

You will be confident, enthusiastic and innovative in your approach to working with young people. You will also be flexible and able to work on a rota basis, including sleep-in shifts.
