Do you have a passion for sports and a desire to make a lasting impact on young people’s lives?
We’re seeking a dedicated Sports Mentor to support students aged 11–18 in a specialist school in Bridgend. This school caters to pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), social, emotional and behavioural needs, and additional learning challenges.

You’ll use sports and physical activity as a positive tool to build relationships, encourage teamwork, and support personal growth. Whether it’s break-time football or structured PE sessions, your energy and encouragement will play a key role in each student’s development.

Your Role Will Include:

Supporting young people on a 1:1 or small group basis

Using sports to foster trust, confidence, and communication

Providing consistent emotional and behavioural support

Promoting participation and engagement during lessons and free time

Assisting teachers and support staff to create a safe and inclusive environment

What We’re Looking For:

Experience in coaching, youth work, sports leadership, or mentoring

A calm, patient, and positive attitude

Confidence working with young people who present challenging behaviour

A passion for helping students reach their potential through active engagement

DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

Registered (or willing to register) with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)
