Location: Bridgend, CF32
Pay: £13.75 per hour (equivalent to £89.38 per day)
Schedule: Monday to Friday | Term-Time Only | Full-Time Hours

Do you have a passion for sports and a desire to make a lasting impact on young people's lives?
We're seeking a dedicated Sports Mentor to support students aged 11-18 in a specialist school in Bridgend. This school caters to pupils with Autism Spectrum Disorder (ASD), social, emotional and behavioural needs, and additional learning challenges.

You'll use sports and physical activity as a positive tool to build relationships, encourage teamwork, and support personal growth. Whether it's break-time football or structured PE sessions, your energy and encouragement will play a key role in each student's development.

  • Supporting young people on a 1:1 or small group basis

  • Using sports to foster trust, confidence, and communication

  • Providing consistent emotional and behavioural support

  • Promoting participation and engagement during lessons and free time

  • Assisting teachers and support staff to create a safe and inclusive environment

  • Experience in coaching, youth work, sports leadership, or mentoring

  • A calm, patient, and positive attitude

  • Confidence working with young people who present challenging behaviour

  • A passion for helping students reach their potential through active engagement

  • DBS on the Update Service (or willingness to apply)

  • Registered (or willing to register) with the Education Workforce Council (EWC)

  • £13.75 per hour, paid weekly via PAYE

  • Consistent weekday hours - no evenings or weekends
