Job summary

BRC are recruiting a Supported Housing Support Worker to join a Young People’s Supported Housing Service in Cullompton. This role offers 37.5 hours per week with occasional weekend work and a temporary contract of 4-6 weeks, starting immediately.

You will provide person-centred support to vulnerable young people, helping them build independent living skills, maintain tenancy and access education, employment and services while collaborating with partner agencies to ensure a safe and empowering

Qualifications

  • Previous experience in supporting vulnerable individuals or working in a customer-focused environment.
  • In-date Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends on a rota basis.

Responsibilities

  • Manage a caseload of young people, providing tailored one-to-one support.
  • Develop, implement and regularly review person-centred support plans.
  • Complete and review risk assessments to promote safe working practices.
  • Support residents to develop independent living skills, including budgeting, cooking, tenancy sustainment and managing appointments.
  • Assist young people to access education, employment, training and community services.
  • Build positive relationships with external agencies including housing providers, healthcare professionals and support services.
  • Support new residents with move-ins, inductions and settling into the service.
  • Deliver group activities that promote wellbeing, confidence, life skills and community engagement.
  • Maintain accurate case notes, records and support documentation.
  • Ensure safeguarding, health and safety, confidentiality and organisational policies are followed at all times.

Job description

Supported Housing Support Worker (Young People's Service)

Location: Cullompton

Salary: £14.12 per hour + holiday pay (£16.52 per hour Umbrella)

Hours: 37.5 hours per week (Monday to Sunday, 9:00am-5:00pm)

Contract duration: Temporary, 4-6 weeks (Immediate Start)

Weekend working: 1 weekend in 3 (lone working)

Applicants seeking 30 hours per week will also be considered.

About the Role

BRC are recruiting for a Supported Housing Support Worker to join a Young People's Supported Housing Service in Cullompton.

This is an excellent opportunity for someone with experience in supported housing, homelessness, young people's services, social care, mental health or complex needs who is passionate about helping young people build independence and achieve positive outcomes.

Working within supported accommodation, you'll provide person-centred support to young people, helping them develop independent living skills, maintain their tenancy, improve their wellbeing and prepare for move-on accommodation.

You'll work closely with residents, colleagues and partner agencies to create a safe, supportive and empowering environment where young people can thrive.

About You

We're looking for someone who is compassionate, resilient and passionate about supporting vulnerable young people.

Essential
  • Previous experience supporting vulnerable individuals or working in a customer-focused environment.
  • An in-date Enhanced DBS certificate.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Good IT skills, including Microsoft Outlook and Word.
  • Ability to work flexibly, including weekends on a rota basis.
