Job Description:

Hours: 30 hours per week, over a rota pattern, including evenings and weekends

Salary: £34,909.54 pa FTE equating to £27,927.63 pa for 30 hpw

Permanent/Part-time

Our service provides intensive and highly personalised support to young people aged 16 and 17, who have complex needs and are referred by Cambridgeshire County Council Children and Young People’s Services.

What You’ll do

In this varied role, you will work creatively and holistically, providing the highest quality intensive support so that our young people can develop and achieve their goals and independent living skills, enabling them to move onto more independent living. This will be achieved by providing consistent, committed emotional and practical support, in a welcoming and homely environment, in conjunction with their individual action plans.

You will work closely with other agencies; keywork an allocation of service users and meet with them regularly. This includes coping strategies, maintaining their physical and mental wellbeing, tenancy sustainment, obtaining/maintaining employment, education or training and social activities.

You will also prepare accurate written and electronic records of daily events, support sessions, action plans, Rickter Assessments and support reviews.

About you

  • Experience advising and supporting young people.
  • Resilient and able to listen carefully and respond appropriately, particularly when our young people are distressed or angry.
  • Good communication skills – verbal, written and listening.
  • Able to maintain firm boundaries, whilst also working flexibly to meet individual needs.
  • Able to work creatively to meet the needs of a diverse range of young people.
  • Strong IT and office skills, and the ability to maintain office records and write short reports to a high standard.
  • Able to work without close supervision, and to make own decisions and prioritise tasks when necessary.
  • Able to manage challenging situations when alone.
  • A full UK driving licence, use of a car for work purposes and business insurance is essential.
