Do you have...

• Experience working on vehicle engines?
• Demonstrated strong mechanical aptitude?
• Interest in bus & vehicle engine repair?
• Verifiable high school diploma or GED?

Are you prepared to...

• Work for rabbittransit for 5 years? (If not, must pay back the cost of training, which could be thousands of dollars)
• Work 3rd or 2nd shift, both involving weekend work (not a choice, but assigned per union seniority bid system) after the two-year apprentice program?

2-year Apprentice Program involves:

• Online learning sessions on-site at rabbittransit with Pennsylvania College of Technology faculty and weekly tests;
• Hands-on lab learning at Penn College of Technology, including week-long, overnight stays (lodging provided) for practical training. Must have a valid driver’s license to operate our vehicle to training;
• On-the-job training onsite at rabbittransit at 415 N. Zarfoss Dr., York, PA with mentors.

Shift:

• Initially 1st shift during the apprentice program, but must be able to work night shift after completion.
• Post-program, must be able to work 3rd or 2nd shift, involving weekend work, as assigned based on union seniority.

Additional Requirements:

• Must be able to work any shift within operating hours (Sunday 6 AM - Saturday 12:30 AM, Saturday 6 AM - 11:59 PM).
• Commitment to work for rabbittransit for five years on the assigned shift, or repay training costs.
• Willing to earn industry-recognized credentials such as EPA 609, PA State Inspection, CDL Class B, and endorsements.
• High school diploma or equivalent.

Candidate Preferences:

• Experience diagnosing and repairing medium and heavy-duty vehicles, or vocational training in this area.
• Knowledge of vehicle maintenance, tools, Federal Motor Carrier Safety Regulations, and problem-solving skills.

Must Have:

• Ability to work variable shifts, irregular hours, and overtime as needed.
• Proficiency in English, reading manuals, operating computerized systems, and basic computer skills.
• Minimum age of 18, acceptable driving record, and background check.
• Regular attendance and punctuality.

Certificates and Licenses:

• Valid CDL Class B with passenger and air brake endorsements (must obtain within first year if not already held).
• Valid DOT medical card.
