An innovative local authority is seeking a Youth Justice Engagement Support Apprentice to join their dynamic team. Coventry Youth Justice Service (YJS) is a fast-paced multi-agency team consisting of staff from the Local Authority, Police, Probation, Health, and Education. We are a well-respected service with a high-level performance background. Coventry YJS has recently been judged as ‘Outstanding’ by His Majesty’s Inspectorate of Probation. We have a great team spirit evidenced by staff progression being supported through regular development opportunities, low staff turnover, and low sickness rates.

Join us as a Youth Justice Engagement Support Apprentice within the Service. As a new role within the Service, you will support the delivery of an effective and creative service for children, young people, their families, and victims of crime. To do this, you will:
You will undertake the standard Level 5 Youth Justice Practitioner Apprenticeship. Further information for this apprenticeship can be found here.
This apprenticeship role is a fixed-term contract for 25 months in line with the length of the apprenticeship training. This post is exempted under the Rehabilitation of Offenders Act 1974 and as such appointment to this post will be conditional upon the receipt of a satisfactory response to a check of police records via Disclosure and Barring Service (DBS).

The pre-interview is a short session to give the candidates further details of the apprenticeship role and to help them understand what to expect from and how to prepare for the final interview. You will also complete a short diagnostic assessment to check the level of Maths and English that they are currently working at and identify any support they may require.
